This truck driver, uniformed as usual, has just finished delivering and unloading a large Caterpillar front-end loader to a wrecking site in Saga.

Truck transport  can be very tricky in Japan, with the extremely narrow roads, and heavy traffic, in urban areas.

Saga is very much an agricultural area, and in late summer, asparagus is one of its prized crops.

The plants are usually grown in these plastic covered sheds, like a lot of other vegetables in Japan.

The spears are mainly picked when thin, and the asparagus is allowed to green off, rather than be protected from the light. Japanese like the bitterness of darker green vegetables.

This wrecking machine operator is  taking a quick smoko from the demolition of an old factory.

Buildings are rarely renovated in Japan. They are usually demolished when they fall into a sufficient state of disrepair, and then a new construction will be built on the site.

Also, I rarely see any consideration given to the likelihood of asbestos dust being present, although a lot of asbestos was used in Japan, and certainly around the time this post-war building would have been constructed.
