Everywhere you drive in Japan, in the countryside or suburbs, you will see small roadside shrines
like this one. It tends to create the impression that the Japanese are a deeply religious society,
which is not really the case. Spiritual in a sense, but not religious in any great organised
sense, nor bound by a religious based morality, or having conventional transcendental
beliefs.
Anyway, the roadside shrines are quaint, and interesting.

Those little shrines are just everywhere in Saga! This one was good because of the red. Oh, and the nicely tiled roof, too.
