These photographs were taken with an Olympus E-1 camera or an Olympus E-330 camera and assorted Zuiko lenses, or a Ricoh GRD camera.
Not guarding it against theft, or vandalism, or even drunken horseplay, but against pedestrians and motorists injuring themselves, or damaging their cars (or both) in a busy section of Akasaka at night.
Walking dogs in multiples, especially in threes (Japanese obsession with odd numbers), has become very fashionable, especially in the well-to-do parts of Tokyo, such as Roppongi Hills. And of course the shoes help the image, if not the control.
